Terms and conditions

Plain-English terms for using Schema Spaghetti. Last updated: 13th October 2026.

1. Who we are

Schema Spaghetti ("the tool") is provided by The Structured Data Company Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16095340). Registered office: 1-2 Rhodium Point Spindle Close, Hawkinge, Folkestone, Kent, United Kingdom, CT18 7TQ. Contact: info (at) structureddata.co.uk. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean The Structured Data Company Limited, and "you" means the person using the tool.

2. Using the tool

By using the tool you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it. The tool is free to use. We may change it, or stop providing it, at any time without notice.

3. Your data

The tool runs entirely in your web browser. Anything you paste or upload is processed on your own device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we do not store it (only your browser stores it temporarily). When you close or refresh the page, your data is gone (so don't close it accidentally!).

We do not use accounts, cookies or analytics in the tool. The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to fetch them; your pasted or uploaded content is not part of that request.

When you press the Start Untangling! button on the homepage, your browser briefly holds what you pasted in this tab's temporary session storage, on your own device, so it can be passed to the tool page. It is removed as soon as the tool page has read it.

As we do not receive your data, we cannot recover it, and we cannot see or delete it on request, so GDPR does not apply here.

4. What you can and can't do

The tool checks uploaded files and rejects those it considers unsafe, but you remain responsible for what you choose to upload.

5. No guarantees

The tool gives automated checks of structured data. The results are informational, and do not constitute professional advice, therefore they may be incomplete or wrong. Search engines and AI systems each treat structured data in their own way and often change how they do so, so we can't promise any particular outcome, ranking or visibility from using the tool or acting on its results.

The tool is provided "as is" and "as available", without any promise that it will be error-free, always available, or suitable for your purpose. Check anything important yourself before relying on it.

6. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to that, and because the tool is free, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of it or your reliance on its results, including loss of profit, business, data or goodwill, to the fullest extent the law allows.

7. Ownership and other people's software

We own the tool, its design and its branding. You own the content you put into it. The tool includes the open-source library D3 (© Mike Bostock and contributors, ISC licence), which is used under its own licence.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. Carrying on using the tool after a change means you accept the new terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.

10. Contact

I don't know why we need terms and conditions for a free tool, but there you go. If you have any questions about these terms, then email me at info (at) structureddata.co.uk
